As some of you may know, this little business started under the name "A Mint Macaroon". I first picked A Mint Macaroon back in college when I thought it would be fun to start a blog. And by “fun” I mean cool. I didn’t like writing, and still don’t to this day, but I started a blog anyway. Great idea right? Anywho, long story short, I stopped the blog (a.k.a. the website with 2 posts) and started a business under the same name doing something I did love, hand lettering.
As the business grew, I felt a disconnect between the passion I had for the work I was doing and the business name. With many days and nights of brainstorming new names, I eventually came up with Willow Bond and loved it.
Willow represents my dad who has always been the one to encourage me to take risks my whole life. His “go for it” attitude has definitely rubbed off on me over the years. He is an entrepreneur himself running a landscaping company called Willows Landscaping for over 20 years now. Our businesses now share a name.
Bond represents two of the greatest joys of my life. My husband and son. They share Bond as a middle name and now I get to have a piece of it too!
When Willow Bond Co. went through this name change in early 2020, I recommitted to the fact that this business would be grounded in biblical truth. It has been hard for me as a small business owner not to stray from what I know is true in order to get more exposure or more sales. The creative talents God gave me are not meant to advance worldly values. They are to bring glory to God. I hope that I never lose sight of this mission. Willow Bond Co. is here to do the work of Jesus Christ. I hope each and every design serves as a reminder of who our God is and the hope we have in declaring him as our Lord and Savior.
